Intro to the Soul
The Intro to Your Soul series is a gentle, no-pressure introduction to different healing tools designed especially for you. Whether you are brand new to these practices or looking for a supportive space to reconnect, you are welcome here exactly as you are.
For four weeks, we will explore the elements Water, Earth, Air, and Fire, each representing a different way to connect with yourself. Every session is an invitation, not an expectation. You get to choose what resonates with you, what supports you, and what you’d like to take forward into your life.
Healing is not about pushing yourself or following a rigid routine. It’s about discovering what feels safe, what feels good, and what helps you reconnect.
Listen to this song while you are reading, and let me know how it feels.
Each session includes:
✅ A guided journaling practice to help you listen to yourself with compassion.
✅ A different healing modality to explore what feels good in your body.
✅ A space for rest, ease, and connection without pressure or expectations.
✅ A warm cup of tea and a moment to simply be.
By the end of the series, you will have built your own healing toolbox filled with practices that bring ease, comfort, and trust into your daily life.
This series is offered both online and in person, so you can join from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Week 1: Water – Reconnection & Presence
Water is about softening, allowing ourselves to flow, feel, and gently reconnect with our senses. When experiencing anxiety or depression, it can be common to feel disconnected from our bodies. This session is an invitation to simply notice what is here without needing to change anything.
In this class, we focus on reconnecting with the five senses:
🌊 Mindful listening – Noticing sounds around us, tuning into the present moment.
🌊 Mindful eating – Slowly savoring a small piece of chocolate or tea, observing taste and texture.
🌊 Gentle self-inquiry – Through guided journaling, we explore what presence means to us.
🌊 Sound bath experience – A deep, immersive experience in sound, helping us listen inwardly and outwardly.
This session involves no movement, only an invitation to settle, listen, and be with yourself.
Week 2: Earth – Grounding & Stability
Finding Balance.
After softening into presence, we explore Earth's stability, grounding, and connection. Anxiety often brings a sense of unease, a feeling of being untethered. This session is designed to help you feel supported, rooted, and steady physically and emotionally.
🌿 Gentle, beginner-friendly movement – Slow, mindful movements to reconnect with your breath and body.
🌿 Grounding meditation – A guided meditation inviting you to visualize roots, stability, and inner safety.
🌿 Journaling for self-connection – Exploring how to create a sense of safety within ourselves.
🌿 Rest and reflection – After movement, we settle into a supported, restful position and notice how our bodies feel.
All movement is optional and can be done at your own pace. There is no right or wrong way to participate.
Week 3: Air – Lightness & Release
Air represents lightness, breath, and spaciousness, qualities that can be difficult to access when we feel overwhelmed. This session helps us explore ways to bring more ease and release into our nervous system through breath and movement.
🌬 Simple breathwork techniques – No forced deep breaths, just gentle invitations to explore what feels comfortable.
🌬 Stillness & silence – Noticing the rhythms of your body and creating moments of quiet.
🌬 Gentle movement – Releasing tension through small, natural movements.
🌬 Savasana & deep rest – A guided relaxation to let the body settle.
This week encourages self-trust, and you decide what feels best for you, whether it’s stillness, movement, or somewhere in between.
Week 4: Fire – Expression & Creativity
Fire represents expression, passion, and transformation, but not in an overwhelming way. Often, when words feel too difficult, creativity can help us express things we don’t yet know how to say.
🔥 Creative expression – Painting, drawing, or any form of visual self-expression. There are no rules, just exploration.
🔥 Journaling reflection – What worked best for you in the series? What tools felt most supportive?
🔥 A moment of gratitude – Honoring yourself for showing up and exploring these practices.
This final session is about trusting your own process and taking time to acknowledge your personal journey.
What differentiates traditional yoga from trauma-informed yoga?
Welcoming you just as you are, at the Soul Shala
Anxiety is something that many of us experience, whether it’s a constant undercurrent or a wave that crashes in unexpectedly. In today’s fast-paced world, the need for spaces that support emotional regulation, nervous system balance, and self-awareness has never been greater. This is where anxiety-informed yoga and mindfulness come in—a practice that goes beyond traditional yoga to meet individuals exactly where they are.
The Difference Between Anxiety-Informed Yoga or Yoga with Care and Traditional Yoga
Traditional yoga is a powerful spiritual practice that goes beyond the physical, focusing on breath, movement, mantra presence, and much more. However, not all yoga classes are designed with the needs of anxious or trauma-sensitive individuals in mind. Anxiety-informed yoga is a more mindful, intentional approach that prioritizes choice and nervous system regulation.
Here’s how it differs from regular yoga:
Emphasis on Nervous System Regulation – Anxiety-informed yoga focuses on helping individuals move out of fight-or-flight responses and into a more grounded, regulated state. This includes slower transitions, longer holds, and a balance between activation and relaxation.
Choice-Based Practice – Instead of set sequences or expectations, anxiety-informed yoga empowers individuals to listen to their bodies and check in on how each exercise is making them fell. There’s no pressure to push past discomfort—options and modifications are encouraged so students can find what feels best for them.
Mindfulness as a Core Component – Mindfulness is a huge part of yoga practices; anxiety-informed yoga is an essential foundation. Guided breathwork, meditation, and body awareness exercises help practitioners gently shift their focus away from anxious thoughts and into the present moment.
Trauma-Sensitive Approach – Many people with anxiety also have past experiences of trauma. This approach avoids triggering cues, encourages self-agency, and fosters a sense of safety through grounding techniques and supportive language.
Why It Matters
For those navigating anxiety, stepping onto a yoga mat or going to a new space can feel intimidating and scary.
Anxiety-informed yoga creates an inclusive and compassionate space where individuals can move, breathe, and be exactly as they are—without expectation or judgment.
At Soul Yoga and Growth, my goal is to help you reconnect with yourself in a way that feels safe and supportive. Whether you’re new to yoga or have been practicing for years, this approach allows you to build resilience, self-trust, and inner peace at your own pace.
If you’re ready to explore a practice designed with your nervous system in mind, I invite you to join me on this journey to return to yourself one breath at a time.
